Gulf Shores Elementary opened in 1981. Emphasis is
placed on students becoming self-motivated, well-adjusted and life-long learners. The
school boasts above-average achievement test scores and has a reputation for providing
excellent education in a positive environment. Gulf Shores Elementary is home to the Baby
Dolphins. The curriculum is based on physical education, music, art and technology. There
is also an emphasis on community outreach programs and service learning opportunities. The emphasis is on developing students who are self-motivated
learners.

Orange Beach Elementary has 30 adult volunteers that
tutor students one-on-one in various subjects. The school focuses on improving self-esteem
which enhances self-control and self-concept. The schools mission is encourage students
to
be life-long learners and responsible citizens. The PTA is very involved in fundraising
and
helping teachers and office staff with school sponsored activities.

Grace Christian Academy was established in August, 2003 as a
ministry of Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church in America. The primary objectives in
establishing the Classical Christian school were to provide a quality education with a
Christian worldview to its covenant children and to unite with and assist parents in the
education of their children. Grace Christian Academy is composed of two entities: the
Mothers Day Out & Pre-school Program and the Elementary School Program. The
Mothers Day Out & Pre-school Program is available for 2-3 year olds from
8:30-2:30 each day. The Grammar school program serves PreK4—6th grade.
It is a
5-day program. Extended day care is available at additional costs for parents needing this
service for their children. The Academy offers the Abeka Curriculum as a readiness program
for K4 students and a classical curriculum for K5 and 1st grade students.

Bayside Academy offers pre-school and elementary classes. Class
sizes are small, allowing for one-to-one interaction between students and teachers. The
core curriculum includes Spanish, music, art, computer and physical education. An outdoor
science classroom that overlooks wetlands allows for hands-on learning. Communication
between parent and teacher as well as teacher and student is emphasized. Bayside intends
to add additional grade levels in the future.

Gulf Shores Middle School's Achievement Test
scores are consistently above state and national averages. The curriculum places emphasis
on interdisciplinary studies and teacher teaming. In addition to the usual academic
classes, Gulf Shores Middle School offers advanced math, algebra, gifted education and
at-risk classes. Career exploratory classes are also offered in subjects such as chorus,
band, computer programming, technological education, art, journalism, yearbook, family and
consumer science and sign language. The school also offers cross-country, volleyball,
football, basketball, soccer, track and swimming.

Gulf Shores High School offers classes in English, math, social
sciences, science, gifted education, business computers, art, foreign language, physical
education, drama, family and consumer science, Naval Junior ROTC and culinary arts. The
school is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has
also received Business and Industry Certification. Gulf Shores High School aims to prepare
students for post-secondary education and the workforce. Some of the Extracurricular
clubs
include National Honor Society, Key Club, Beta Club, Friends of Exceptional Children and
Future Business Leaders of America.
GSHS also offers a full, competitive sports program.

The Gulf Shores campus of Faulkner State opened in
1993. This campus houses the Gulf Coast Culinary Institute, Hospitality Administration,
Ornamental Horticulture and
Landscape Technology programs. The Culinary Institute runs a full-scale restaurant named
Frederic's that offers a hands-on learning environment for the students enrolled in the
Culinary and Hospitality Administration programs. The
program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute.
Students who enroll in the Golf
Course Management program can expect to enter careers as assistant superintendents with
excellent opportunities to advance. The campus
also provides basic classes in English, mathematics, biology, history and computer science
that are needed to meet core curriculum requirements. Day and evening classes are
available.
